The hits keep coming on this years’ edition of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Jets laid an egg last night, and things aren’t looking great headed to the barn in the mountains of Colorado, where the Avs play like the Oilers in the 80’s. While the Caps put up a little bit of a fight at MSG against the Blueshirts, that series still looks like a fight between Honey Boo Boo and a black-belt fighter. Put it to rest Washington, you had Ovi swimming in a Vegas fountain with the Cup recently, that’s enough for you. The Panthers went on to pull out a dub against the Lightning, helping our Futures bets and making Tampa curl up in a padded room, with straight jackets on, constantly whispering the name “Bobrovsky”. Last but not least, the filthy Preds evened the series up against Van City. Elias Petterson looks as cooked as a dry-ass chicken breast, and DeSmith vs Juuse Saros at tendy is comparable to Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson.
Let’s move to today though, and bring out the rake people. The money is coming with these plays, game picks that make too much sense. If I don’t go profitable tonight …. well, who am I kidding, I’m still gonna keep betting and rocking the picks. But this game is all about entertainment and picking good spots: I think tonight is the night.
*Units for me will be $100 bets. Bet responsibly.
If you want to keep up with the cash outs I’m taking, it’s easy to toss a follow on X and keep notifications on. You don’t have to take my suggested cash outs, but they are helpful in certain situations:
Game: Boston Bruins vs Toronto Maple Leafs, 5:00 p.m. CST
Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs Moneyline (-110) 1u
I think we’re going to start seeing an interesting trend in this series: Boston’s stunted offence might not be able to take advantage of this trash Leafs d-core/goalie like I thought they would. Behind Pasta, the Bruins are seriously hitting the struggle bus up front: we see this in the game two stats. Slot shots for the Leafs were 20-9, high danger scoring chances 22-13, and expected goals 4.86 to 2.46. It was a one-way ticket to the domination station for Toronto in that one, racking up offensive zone time like a guy playing on rookie mode in Chell. The puck didn’t even bounce the Leaf’s way and they came out with the dub.
I’m starting to believe this Leafs team might be different …. wait, what am I smoking? No, but seriously, this Maple Leaf squad is built better for the playoffs than in previous years. If only we could get some truth as to what’s going on with Willy. Did he get kidnapped? Did the Leafs put a body double out there to take morning skates? Is he a health bomb? No clue here. But even without Willy, this is still the Leafs game tonight, building off the momentum of last game and getting the big dawgs firing with some true cheds tonight.
The truth is, a majority of Toronto’s players have performed at a less-than-optimal level, with McCabe’s pizza TO’s, Rielly’s dumbfounded decision making, and Marner’s pussyitis. And they still split two games on the road against Boston. With the Leaf boys getting fired up at home, their hunny’s watching in the crowd …. look out.
Game: Vegas Golden Knights vs Dallas Stars, 7:30 p.m. CST
Pick: Dallas Stars Moneyline (-160) 1u
Pick: Under 6.0 Goals (-115) 1u
Dallas kind of burnt me in that first game, and the LTIR Knights looked really good for a bunch of injured, frail old men. Lacerated spleen who? Jokes aside, VGK came out hot in Dallas and had em’ by the balls from that first powerplay goal. Oettinger ….
could have been better buds. The push was there to even things up, but too little, too late champ. Sure didn’t help that Dallas Glass Banger was fucking around in the home barn.
Nonetheless, expect a bounce back from Dallas here: this is a must-win if they want to stay in this series. Going down 2-0 at home in the NHL Playoffs is akin to locking your keys in the car after you left it in neutral on a downslope that leads to a river. Not good, not good at all. Even with the piss-poor game one performance the Stars put up, they still deserved to win that game over 56% of the time based on the metrics (per moneypuck.com). I see Stankoven popping out a stanky leg celebration after he caps off his natural hat trick.
But I’m not expecting too many goals, which is very boring, I know. The books moved all these lines up to 6.0 instead of 5.5 those sly buggers. But I’m just feeling that this game is going to be a lot tighter than the last. Oettinger was on an absolute heater before last game, and Thompson is looking like a brick wall. If the Stars want a chance at winning, it’s two goals or less for VGK. Good enough for the Under on my end.
Game: Los Angeles Kings vs Edmonton Oilers, 8:00 p.m. CST
Pick: Edmonton Oilers 3-Way Moneyline (-110) 1u
Pick: Over 6.0 Goals (-115) 1u
The goals keep coming in this series like thirst traps from Instagram models. Hot and heavy. The first game was just an introduction to what is expected to be fireworks and Oiler W’s for the rest of the series. The offence is just so damn potent … sorry King’s, your castle is about to be sieged, and you’re facing the guillotine.
McNasty and Hyman were linking up like TSwift and KillaTrav out there in game one: tap-in after tap-in. While that might be a nightmare for Happy Gilmore, Hyman was happy to oblige with some cheds. Then that nasty one-timer Drai has on the powerplay? Lock them up for a 50% rate on that PP. Bouchard, Adam Fox-lite, is looking all the part of a number one offensive d-man. Mind you, the overall team defence was good too, with Ekholm being his usual stingy self, and Nurse not making boneheaded plays every few shifts. Very encouraging Oiltown.
The fist game in this series looks a lot closer on paper than it actually was for the Kings. The defence is slackin, the offence is shallow, and the goaltending just ain’t it with an age 36 old-timer tending the twine. While the top-end of the King’s lineup can get some goals, they can’t keep up with the tsunami of tucks for this Edmonton squad. I’ll take an Over with a side of Edmonton blowout please.
Well that’s it people. I will be posting another betting article soon with NHL Playoff game bets. If you want to make sure you don’t miss these articles, follow me on X at @plusmoneypost as I will be sharing them there.
